**Geosynthetics Vertical Permeameter [Test Report and Usage Method]**
**[Test Report Requirements]:**
The test report should contain the following information:
(1) Sample name, specification model, and condition description.
(2) A detailed description of the sample's state before testing.
(3) The date when the test was conducted.
(4) Specifications and key technical parameters of the permeameter.
(5) The effective water area of the tested sample.
**[Instructions for Use]:**
1. Place the sample in a water solution containing a humectant and let it soak for at least 12 hours to ensure full saturation and remove any air bubbles. The humectant used is 0.1% V/V sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate.
2. Remove the high-pressure chamber (refer to Figure 12 of the instrument), then install the test specimen (5) onto the holder (6). Ensure the sample is clean, free from dirt, creases, or folds, and placed on a flat surface without any applied load. Reinstall the high-pressure chamber and tighten the high-pressure cylinder nut evenly.
3. Open the water valves (3) and (1) to fill the high-pressure water tank (2) with clean water until the head difference on both sides reaches 50mm (11). Close the water supply. If the water levels on both sides are not balanced within 5 minutes, check for trapped air. Open the exhaust valve (13) to release the air and note this in the test report.
4. Adjust the water flow so that the head difference stabilizes at 70mm ± 5mm, and record this value accurately to 1mm. Once the head is stable for 30 seconds, collect the permeate water over a specified time period (8). The volume of permeate should be measured accurately to 10mL, and the time recorded to the nearest second. The total permeate volume should reach at least 1000mL, with a minimum collection time of 30 seconds.
5. Repeat the procedure above for maximum head differences of 0.8, 0.6, 0.4, and 0.2 times the initial head difference. Start with the highest flow rate and proceed to the lowest. Record the corresponding permeate volumes and times for each step.
6. Measure and record the water temperature to the nearest 0.2°C.
7. Calculate the results according to the relevant standards, such as T1141-2006.
After completing the vertical permeability test, open the drain valve (4) to drain all the water from the system. Clean the instrument thoroughly and prepare it for future use.

This equipment is essential for evaluating the hydraulic performance of geosynthetic materials, ensuring accurate and reliable data for engineering applications. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and safety protocols during operation.
