Renesas Electronics and Codeplay Partner to Develop OpenCLTM and SYCLTM for Advanced Driver Assistance System Solutions

**Renesas and Codeplay Collaborate to Enhance Automotive Computing with OpenCL and SYCL Frameworks** On September 13, 2017, in Tokyo, Scotland, and Edinburgh, Scotland, Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE: 6723), a leading global semiconductor company, and Codeplay Software Co., Ltd., a specialist in high-performance compilers and parallel computing, announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to integrate Codeplay’s OpenCL-based software framework, ComputeAorta™, into Renesas’ R-Car System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. This integration will initially target the R-Car H3, with future support for R-Car V3M and other SoCs within Renesas’ autonomy™ platform designed for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. The new framework is specifically optimized to support the latest image recognition IP, IMP-X5, which is tailored for computer vision and cognitive processing. In addition to ComputeAorta, Codeplay will also provide ComputeCpp™, an implementation of the SYCL™ open standard that enables single-source C++ development for advanced object-oriented programming.
