1. Equipment Required for Connecting the DVR to the Splicing Screen in the Monitoring System

1. Signal Source Equipment: The primary signal source in a monitoring system is the camera. There are various types of cameras available, such as bullet cameras, dome cameras, integrated cameras, infrared day/night cameras, high-speed dome cameras, and network cameras. Each type has different features and must be selected based on site conditions and customer requirements.

2. Necessary Connection Equipment: First, a video distributor is required. Typically, a 16-in 32-out video distributor is used (or 16 groups of 1-in 2-out distributors). Its main function is to split the camera's video signal into two parts: one part goes to the DVR, and the other goes to the matrix. The DVR is the most commonly used device in a monitoring system for storing video data, while the final display devices include monitors, splicing screens, or TV walls.

3. Matrix: This is a central device that handles video signal switching and display. Common types include pure video matrices (BNC interface), VGA matrices, HDMI matrices, and DVI matrices. In this setup, the matrix should be chosen based on the output interface of the DVR and the input interface of the splicing screen. It’s ideal if all three devices—DVR, splicing screen, and matrix—have compatible interfaces for seamless integration.

Second, the program for connecting the hard disk recorder to the splicing screen in the monitoring system

1. Signal Line Connection Scheme: Connect the camera signal to the video distributor (if there is no matrix, you can directly connect the camera signal to the DVR). Then, connect the output interface of the DVR to the matrix. The output interfaces of the DVR typically include VGA, HDMI, etc. Next, connect the matrix output to the splicing screen processor, and finally, connect the splicing screen processor to each individual screen of the splicing wall.

2. The matrix protocol needs to be programmed into the splicing screen processor so that it can control both the splicing screen and the matrix, making the entire system more efficient and user-friendly.

3. Advantages and Disadvantages of the Program:

Advantages: This setup allows the splicing screen to display the monitoring images with the help of its image fusion function, providing a clear and wide view of the surveillance area.

Disadvantages: The video images from the DVR are typically displayed using a screen-splitting function. Usually, a single frame is divided into 16 small screens. However, it is not possible to directly zoom in on any one of the 16 video windows using the matrix or the splicing screen, which limits the flexibility of the display.
