1) Identify the functions of each file of the multimeter.

2) Measure three---four resistors and record.

3) Measure the AC voltage and record.

4) Measure the DC voltage and record.

Multimeter: It is mainly used to measure AC DC voltage, current, DC resistance, and the number of digits of transistor current amplification. There are two main types of digital multimeters and mechanical multimeters.

1) Digital multimeter

On the multimeter you will see the conversion knob shown in the figure. The knob refers to the second amount of gear.

V~: indicates the gear position for measuring the AC voltage.

V-: indicates the DC voltage position.

MA: Indicates the gear position for measuring DC voltage.

Ω(R): indicates the gear position of the measuring resistor.

HFE: Indicates the gear position of the measuring resistor.

The red pen of the multimeter indicates the positive pole of the external circuit, and the black pen indicates the negative pole of the external circuit.

2) Mechanical multimeter

The appearance of the mechanical multimeter is different from that of the digital meter, but the shift knobs of the two are similar, and the gear positions are basically the same.

On the mechanical watch you will see a dial with eight scales on the dial:

Marked with the "Ω" mark is the scale used to measure the resistance.

Marked with "~" is the scale used to measure AC voltage and DC current.

Marked with the "HFE" mark is the scale used to measure the triode.

Marked with the "LI" mark is a scale that measures the current and voltage of the load.

Marked with the "DB" mark is the scale for measuring the level.

3) Use of the multimeter

1 digital multimeter: first hit the measured gear before the measurement, it should be noted that the range marked on the gear is the maximum.

2 mechanical multimeter: The method of measuring current and voltage is the same as the mathematical formula, but when measuring the electric current, the reading is multiplied by the value on the gear position to be the measured value. For example, the current gear position is “X100” reading is 200, the measurement title is 200X100=20000Ω=20K, the “Ω” ruler on the dial is from left to right, from big to small, and the others are from left to right. ,From small to large

4) Note:

1 adjust "zero point" (only for mechanical watches), before using the table, first look at the pointer refers to the "zero position" on the left end, if not, then the small screwdriver should slowly rotate the "starting point zero" in the center of the case Correct the screw so that the pointer points to the zero position.

2 multimeter should be placed horizontally (machine only)

3 Before the test, determine the measurement content, and rotate the range conversion knob to the corresponding gear position as shown, so as not to burn the meter head. If you do not know the size of the measured physical quantity, you must start the test from a large range.

4 The test leads should be correctly inserted into the corresponding sockets.

5 During the test, do not rotate the gear change knob arbitrarily.

6 After use, be sure to adjust the knob without the table gear to the maximum range of the AC voltage.

7 When measuring DC voltage and current, pay attention to the positive and negative voltages, the current flow direction, and connect with the test leads (time).
