1. Program Execution Mode Selection: To choose the program execution mode of the emulation PLC, a "Program Execution Mode" selection shortcut button is provided in the S7-PLCSIM application window. This allows users to easily switch between different execution modes. The layout of the program execution mode shortcut buttons is shown in Figure 14-5.1. From left to right, the corresponding buttons represent: single cycle scanning mode, continuous cycle scanning mode, PLC pause mode, and again single cycle scanning mode. Additionally, all timer reset modes are supported. Clicking the button will open the simulated object one by one. When the single cycle scan mode is selected, the CPU executes only one scan cycle. Users can run the single cycle again by clicking the "Single Cycle Scan Mode" shortcut button or by selecting "Execute" from the menu and choosing "Next Scan". In continuous cycle mode, the simulation behaves like a real CPU operating normally. No matter which mode you're in, you can pause the PLC program by clicking the "PLC Pause Mode" shortcut button (Pause). Similarly, the execution mode can also be changed via the "Execute" menu options. 2. Record and Playback: Click the “Record/Playback” shortcut button (as shown in Figure 14-5.2) or go to the menu "Tools" > "Record/Playback" to bring up the "Record/Playback" toolbar. This interface functions similarly to a recorder, allowing you to record the operation of the simulated CPU during runtime and save it as a text file. You can then replay the recorded process using the playback feature. During playback, you can adjust the speed to review events that occurred during the program execution.
