LCD TV technical indicators

Among the performance indicators of LCD TVs, brightness, contrast, resolution and viewing angle are the most influential to consumers' visual perception. Brightness refers to the brightness of the picture, in cd/m2 or nITs. At present, there are two ways to increase the brightness: one is to increase the light transmittance of the LCD panel; the other is to increase the brightness of the backlight source.

The mainstream brightness is now 250cd/m2 or more, but high-brightness products are becoming popular. Generally speaking, it is a high-brightness product when it reaches 400cd/m2 or more. The high brightness can make the displayed picture more clear and vivid, especially suitable for playing DVD movies.

As for the contrast problem, the mainstream products are between 400:1 and 500:1, the difference is small, but some high-end products reach 800:1 or more, so don't worry too much when purchasing. Too high contrast, such as above 400, does not have much practical significance, the human eye can not distinguish.

The resolution will affect the clarity of the picture. The high resolution LCD TV picture is clear and delicate, the picture edge is sharp and sharp, and the low resolution will make the picture rough, and the close view has obvious graininess. Generally, the resolution of 1024 × 768 or above has the characteristics of high-definition television.

For the home, the viewing angle of the LCD TV is naturally larger, and the larger the viewing angle, the larger the spatial range in which the user can see the clear and perfect picture.

LCD TV dot pitch

The dot pitch generally refers to the distance between two adjacent pixel points. The calculation of the dot pitch is based on the panel size divided by the resolution, but the importance of the LCD TV dot pitch is far less than that of the CRT.

LCD TV response time

The so-called reaction time is the speed at which each pixel of the LCD TV reacts to the input signal, that is, the time required for the pixel to turn from dark to bright or from bright to dark. The principle is to apply a voltage in the liquid crystal molecules to make the liquid crystal molecules twist and recover. It is often said that 25ms and 16ms refer to this reaction time. The shorter the reaction time, the less the user will feel the tail drag when watching the dynamic picture.

According to the data, the reaction time is 30 milliseconds = 1/0.030 = the TV can display 33 frames per second, which can meet the needs of DVD playback; the reaction time is 25 milliseconds = 1/0.025 = the TV can display 40 frames per second. Fully meet the needs of DVD playback and most movies or games.

LCD TV backlight life

The liquid crystal panel itself cannot emit light, and it belongs to a backlight type display device. There is a backlight on the back of the LCD screen. The LCD TV relies on the liquid crystal unit on the panel to “block” and “turn on” the backlight to restore the picture.

It can be found that as long as the liquid crystal display is powered on, the backlight will start to work, and even if the displayed picture is a black picture, the backlight will remain in the working state. Since the light transmittance of the liquid crystal panel is extremely low, the brightness of the liquid crystal television is required to reach the level of the restored picture. The brightness of the backlight is at least 6000 cd/m2. The life of the backlight is the life of the LCD TV. The backlight life of the LCD TV is generally more than 50,000 hours. In other words, if you use LCD TVs for an average of 5 hours a day, the life of 50,000 hours is equal to 27 years you can use the LCD TV.

LCD TV receiving system

At present, there are three main types of color TVs in the world, namely NTSC, PAL and SECAM. The three systems are currently not uniform. China adopts the PAL-D system, so the LCD TVs used in China should at least be compatible with the PAL-D system. Generally, LCD TVs are compatible with the above TV standards, but it is best to confirm them before purchasing.

LCD TV sound output power

In order to make a normal sound, LCD TVs have at least two built-in speakers, and its power determines the maximum sound intensity that the speaker can emit. Since the main role of LCD TVs is not to listen to music, the power of sound is not very important. In contrast, the quality of sound may be more important. At present, the average LCD TV speaker power is 2 to 10W.

Of course, if you need to connect the LCD TV to your home theater, you will not bypass the amplifier unit, so the LCD TV's sound output power is negligible.

LCD TV interface

Considering that LCD TVs should be connected to peripherals such as home theaters and computers, in addition to the necessary AV and S-Video interfaces, DVI and D-Sub interfaces, optical fiber output, etc. should also be considered.

CC-Link

Field Bus cable connectors are used to support various BUS systems . The Connection Cable is designed for fixed indoor installation or occasional outdoor installation in the industrial networks. The signal wires are generally provided in the form twisted pairs. Applications: industrial automation, machinery equipment, Sensors & actors, automation process and robotic machines and field-bus system. RoHS, REACH compliant.
