An oscilloscope is a widely used electronic measuring instrument. It can transform the invisible electrical signals into visible images, so that people can study the changes of various electrical phenomena.

Here is a brief description of the oscilloscope using tips:

1. General-purpose oscilloscope minimizes the spot diameter by adjusting the brightness and focus knob to make the waveform clear and reduce the test error; do not make the spot stay at a point, otherwise the electron beam bombardment should form a dark spot on the screen, damaging the screen. .
2. Measurement systems - such as oscilloscopes, signal sources, printers, computers, etc. The ground wire of the device under test, such as instruments, electronic components, circuit boards, and power supply of the device under test, must be connected to a common ground (earth).
3. When the TDS200/TDS1000/TDS2000 series digital oscilloscope is used with the probe, it can only measure the waveform of the signal (the measured signal-signal ground is the earth, the signal terminal output amplitude is less than 300VCATII). It is absolutely impossible to measure the floating signal of the commercial equipment AC220V or electronic equipment that cannot be isolated from the mains AC220V. (Floating can not be connected to the earth, otherwise it will cause damage to the instrument, such as testing the induction cooker.)
4. Universal oscilloscope shell, signal input terminal BNC socket metal outer ring, probe ground wire, AC220V power socket ground wire end are all connected. If the instrument is not connected to the ground wire and directly measures the floating signal with the probe, the instrument will generate a potential difference relative to the ground; the voltage value is equal to the potential difference between the probe ground wire and the point of the device under test and the earth. This poses a serious safety hazard to instrument operators, oscilloscopes, and electronic equipment under test.
5. Users need to measure the switching power supply (switching power supply primary, control circuit), UPS (uninterruptible power supply), electronic rectifiers, energy-saving lamps, inverters and other types of products or other electronic equipment that cannot be isolated from the mains AC220V for floating signals. The DP100 high voltage isolated differential probe must be used for testing.
Other considerations for using the oscilloscope:
(1) Thermal electronic instruments should generally avoid frequent power-on and shutdown, as well as oscilloscopes.
(2) If the waveform is found to be disturbed by the outside, ground the oscilloscope case.
(3) The voltage of “Y input” should not be too high to avoid damage to the instrument. When the maximum attenuation is exceeded, it should not exceed 400V. When the “Y input” wire is suspended, the interference waveform will be affected by external electromagnetic interference, and this phenomenon should be avoided.
(4) Before turning off the power, turn the brightness adjustment knob counterclockwise to the bottom to minimize the brightness, then disconnect the power switch. Analog oscilloscope.
(5) When observing the bright spots on the screen and making adjustments, the brightness of the bright spots should be moderate and not too bright.
