Diodes high performance automotive Hall effect latching offers a wide range of sensitivity options

Diodes Incorporated has introduced the AECQ100 compliant AH376xQ Hall-effect latching series and offers eight magnetic field sensitivity options to meet a wide range of automotive applications. Applications include commutation, coding and position control of various motors, pumps, fans and valves in the cabin to operate windows, sunroofs, seats, tailgates and air conditioners. The new product also effectively controls and detects the speed and position of the crankshaft, camshaft, and cooling fan in the engine compartment, as well as pumps, oil pumps and petrol pumps.

Diodes high performance automotive Hall effect latching offers a wide range of sensitivity options

The AH376xQ series offers a wide temperature range of -40oC to +150oC and a supply voltage range of 3V to 28V. These devices feature low crank voltage and over-voltage offset to withstand harsh automotive environments, ensuring robust operation. Improved protection also helps to enhance operational stability, including low leakage latching diodes that prevent reverse power connections, input and output clamp voltages that can withstand transient voltages, and output current limiting to avoid overload. In addition, the device's 8kV electrostatic discharge capability can withstand load dumps of up to 32V.

The new product line offers eight magnetic field operation options and release thresholds (Bop and Brp) to meet the magnetic field strength and distance between the sensor and the magnetic field for a variety of applications. Bop and Brp sensitivity ranges from up to +25G/-25G to as low as +210G/-210G, while maintaining pin compatibility. These devices are available in industry standard SOT23 and SIP3 packages. Among them, AH3762Q/3Q/4Q/5Q provides SC59 package options at the same time, with the reverse polarity magnetic field detection capability that SOT23 package can not provide.

The AH376xQ Hall-effect latching IC utilizes a 10μs fast turn-on time and a fast response time of 3.75μs to reduce latency and reduce error tolerance for superior performance. The chopper-stabilized design with low temperature coefficient minimizes switching point offset and enhances stress tolerance. The open-drain output configuration further increases flexibility by adjusting the external pull-up resistor value to meet application requirements.

The new Hall effect latching series is fully compliant with the automotive AECQ100 standard and the AIAG production part approval program. The products are available in SOT23, SIP3 and SC59 package options, each with a shipping volume of one thousand. For further product information, please visit:
